MODULAR SYNTHESIS FESTIVAL
Haswell, along with Wired Lab member David Burraston, will be appearing at the Moduluxxx Modular Synthesis Festival in Sydney Friday 24th – Sunday 25th May. Somewhere between a museum, a LAN party and a pet show Moduluxxx is a two day celebration of modular synthesis and features artist talks, demonstrations and performances.
Festivals such as Moduluxxx acknowledge modular synthesis’ place in contemporary arts practice, and importantly its long standing global DIY scene. The recent trend in modular evolution is the Eurorack modular, which along with the DIY scene and software modular synth programs, have helped to democratize the technology. Modular synthesizers are now cheaper and easier to produce, enabling access to a wider social demographic. Moduluxxx will explore current, future and historical incorporations of modular synthesizers in creative and scientific work.
